Le champion de lutte avec frappe Yakhya Diop dit Yekini a annoncé vendredi qu’il ne va plus combattre contre Mohamed Ndao Tyson qu’il a battu le 4 avril dernier.
"Jamais il ne pourrait y avoir une nouvelle confrontation entre nous deux", a répondu Yekini en wolof, au cours d’une émission à la Télévision publique (RTS).
Considéré comme ’’le roi des arènes’’, Yekini a remporté aux dépens de Tyson le combat dit du cinquantenaire, qui avait coïncidé avec les festivités marquant les 50 ans de l’accession du Sénégal à la souveraineté internationale.
Yakhya Diop, de son vrai nom, triomphe ainsi de Tyson pour la deuxième fois. Il l’avait battu une première fois en janvier 2006.

Yekini avait également déclaré après son troisième combat victorieux contre Baboye en juillet 2008, qu’il ne lutterait plus jamais contre ce dernier.
Il a cependant dit qu’il est prêt à combattre contre un autre lutteur. "La saison n’est pas terminée", a-t-il dit répondu à une question sur son programme de l’année sportive. Yekini a en outre indiqué qu’il espère voir les autres lutteurs de son écurie descendre dans l’arène.APS
